Damn you, Pandora
That Creed ad that just came across on my Ryan Adams station was uncalled for.

Workplace Fashion
One of the admins here at work is currently wearing a zebra print bathrobe over her regular clothes. In what universe would this be appropriate?

Here's To The Halcyon: Plans →
herestothehalcyon: Today: Pantsless Wednesday and lots of Netflix Tonight: I have a ticket to a story telling/music thing. But, after last night’s excitement, I’m not in a big hurry to go out alone for a while. So, I might skip it. We’ll see. Tomorrow: ??? Friday/Saturday/Sunday: Inthepresenttense is… I’m pretty jealous of pantsless Wednesday (although…I’m...

Centro-Matic On World Cafe →
gene-how: “With 20 albums in just 14 years, Centro-Matic has built a solid reputation for playful yet masterful, country-infused rock. With Matt Pence, Scott Danborn and Mark Hedman supporting Johnson’s quick wit and pop influences, Centro-Matic’s catalog exudes both boundless energy and emotional restraint.”

Austin, how I love thee...
I’m only here for one night for a meeting, but it’s been a lovely day. Giant burger at Casino El Camino for lunch, steak at Parkside for dinner, and plenty of bourbon.

People are assholes
I just watched some jerk lose his mind while checking in to the hotel. Apparently his secretary booked through Expedia, so he won’t be getting points for his stay. Dropping f-bombs right and left in the lobby is super classy.

I have a 9:00 flight in the morning and two deliverables that have to be submitted before I leave. I should be working, but I’m playing on YouTube instead.

I just went through security at Dulles behind a lady with 3 kids under the age of 3, a double stroller, and a dog in a pet taxi. If she’s on my flight, I’m going to lose my mind.

I’ve been really good about eating healthy lately, but I just went out for a giant breakfast of eggs, biscuits and gravy, and hash browns. I smell like bacon and want to do nothing but lay on the couch and digest.

It’s 75 degrees here today. I’m enjoying the afternoon in the outdoor area at work (hooray for wi-fi!). Might as well take advantage of it before Texas realizes it’s almost February.

Have I mentioned before that I hate trade shows?
herestothehalcyon: Been here for 4 hours, but it feels like 4 days. Our booth is also smack dab in front of a cinnamon roll/cookie stand and another that makes nachos/cheesesteaks etc. That might not sound like a bad deal, but if I have to watch one more morbidly obese person Hoover a giant frosting-coated roll, I just might puke. Trade Shows are without a doubt the worst part of my job....

My office moved over the holidays from a 70s era office building to a former semiconductor fabrication facility. It’s actually been renovated very nicely, but there are still some little quirks. The bathrooms are in the pipe space between floors and have extremely low ceilings and signs that say “please don’t write on the walls.” I assume this must have been problem in the...

In the Present Tense: Adios, 2011 →
herestothehalcyon: inthepresenttense: I sometimes wish the year didn’t end with the chaos of the holidays, as it tends to skew my impressions of the year as a whole. Adios, 2011
I sometimes wish the year didn’t end with the chaos of the holidays, as it tends to skew my impressions of the year as a whole. Christmas and New Years were kind of a buzz kill for me, and as a result I’ve been a bad mood the last couple of weeks. As I sat here thinking on the last day of my vacation, I realized that 2011 was overall a pretty great year. I made some pretty significant...

I have reached the stage in the holiday season where i am not fit to be around people. Every thing is wearing on my nerves at this stage. At one point yesterday, there were 7 dogs in the house. Every time someone moved, the barking commenced. The TV was tuned to the NBA all day yesterday. I love sports, but I hate the NBA with a fiery passion. I therefore spent the evening playing games on my...
